AWHONN Intermediate Fetal Heart Monitoring Course

Due to Covid restrictions, space is limited to 15 and registration is open to RWJ Barnabas staff only. Pre-registration and payment must be received ten (10) days prior.
This Intermediate Course focuses on applying essential fetal heart rate monitoring theory and skills in intrapartum practice.
Day 1 – Participants will analyze case studies and use a physiological-based approach to interpret fetal monitoring data.
Day 2 – Participants will attend skill stations offering demonstrations, practice/testing auscultation, Leopold’s Maneuvers, insertion and placement in an intrauterine pressure catheter and fetal spiral electrode, interpretation of tracings and identification communication, documentation and nursing interventions.
Fee includes nursing contact hours, participant packet and a copy of the “Fetal Heart Monitoring Principles and Practices” (fifth edition) text book. Participants must read the text prior to the course and bring the text to the workshop. The text will be mailed to participants upon receipt of payment.

Continuing Education Credit:
In order to receive credit, participants must attend both days. No partial credit will be awarded.
Nurses: Participants who attend the full workshop earn 18 CNE’s awarded by AWHONN and will be available via AWHONN’s online CE/CME system. AWHONN holds California BRN Provider Number CEP 00580 and Alabama #ABNP0058.
Physicians: Physicians attending this course will receive 15.25 Continuing Medical Education credit for full participation. CME credit is managed by Professional Education Services Group and will be available via AWHONN’s online CE/CME system.
