Trending Topics in Lactation

The Monmouth/Ocean Breastfeeding Consortium presents, "Trending Topics in Lactation", a virtual conference featuring two nationally recognized speakers, Dr. Katrina Mitchell and Nancy Mohrbacher.

Target Audience: Nurses, Lactation Consultants, Peer Breastfeeding Counselors, Nutritionists, and other Health Care Professionals.

Learning Outcome: At the conclusion of this program, 80% of conference participants will self-report knowledge gain of effective tools to incorporate in their work with breastfeeding families.

Speakers:

Katrina B. Mitchell, MD, IBCLC, PMH-C is a breast surgeon, lactation consultant, and perinatal mental health provider. She sees patients in a daily breastfeeding medicine clinic alongside her surgical practice at Ridley Tree Cancer Center at Sansum clinic in Santa Barbara, California. She is the creator of the physicianguidetobreastfeeding.org, an evidence-based resource for breastfeeding families and the communities that support them.

Nancy Mohrbacher IBCLC, FILCA, has been assisting new mothers with breastfeeding for more than 30 years. She has written many books, including ‘Breastfeeding Made Simple’ and ‘Breastfeeding Solutions’. Nancy is a La Leche League leader, a Breastfeeding USA Counselor and a Fellow of the International Lactation Consultant Association.

Nursing Contact Hours:

This activity has been submitted to the New Jersey State Nurses Association for approval of to award contact hours. The New Jersey State Nurses Association is accredited as an approver of nursing continuing professional development by the American Nurses Credentialing Center's Commission on Accreditation.

Accredited status does not imply endorsement by Monmouth/Ocean Breastfeeding Consortium (MOBC), Central Jersey Family Health Consortium, NJSNA or ANCC Commission on Accreditation of any commercial product discussed/displayed in conjunction with this program.

In order to receive a certificate, you must register and view the entire webinar and complete an online evaluation. A certificate will be e-mailed to all eligible participants
