We want to make sure all NJ families know about an important update regarding SNAP benefits: if the federal government shutdown continues, November 2025 SNAP benefits may not be available on November 1, 2025.
Here is the most recent update from the Department of Human Services:
- If you already have SNAP benefits loaded on your Families First EBT card before October 31, 2025, you can still use them after November 1.
- Before shopping, check your account at NJFamiliesFirst.com or call 800-997-3333 to see your balance.
- You may still receive eligibility notices, and your MyNJHelps case summary may show you are eligible for November benefits.
- Even if your account shows eligibility, benefits may not be loaded on time if the federal shutdown continues.
- SNAP applications and recertifications are still being processed. Please continue submitting any requested information so your benefits will be ready once federal funding returns.
