In a powerful blend of storytelling and advocacy, Trailpack Media’s Stillbirth Awareness Campaign PSA has earned both a Silver Telly Award for Campaign-Public Service & PSA and a Mid-Atlantic Regional Emmy Award for News/Program Promotion/PSA-Campaign. These accolades underscore the importance of the campaign’s mission: raising awareness about stillbirth, honoring the voices of New Jersey mothers who have endured this unimaginable loss, and helping to prevent future stillbirths.
The Campaign: Stillbirth Can Happen to Any Pregnancy
The Stillbirth Awareness Campaign was developed through a grant from the New Jersey Department of Health, awarded to Central Jersey Family Health Consortium (CJFHC) and three collaborating partners: Partnership for Maternal and Child Health of Northern New Jersey. (PMCH), The Cooperative, and stillbirth advocate Debbie Haine Vijayvergiya, co-founder of The 2 Degrees Foundation. Together, these organizations launched a statewide effort under the campaign title, Stillbirth: Can Happen to Any Pregnancy, emphasizing that all pregnancies carry some risk for stillbirth.
This crucial campaign aimed to educate the public and healthcare professionals about the risks and warning signs of stillbirth, providing families with potentially life-saving information. The PSAs follow the stories of mothers who have experienced stillbirth and now share their experiences in the hope of preventing others from suffering the same fate.
Silver Telly: Recognizing Powerful Public Service
The Silver Telly Award, a prestigious honor recognizing excellence in video and television across all screens, was awarded to Trailpack Media’s Stillbirth Awareness PSAs in the Campaign-Public Service & PSA category. The campaign’s empathetic storytelling, focused on the real-life stories of mothers who have experienced stillbirth, resonated deeply with both audiences and judges. Through this award, the campaign’s impact in raising awareness about stillbirth is acknowledged as one of the top public service initiatives of the year.
Emmy-Winning Impact
The campaign also earned a Mid-Atlantic Regional Emmy Award for NEWS/PROGRAM PROMOTION/PSA – CAMPAIGN, underscoring the exceptional quality and journalistic value of the PSAs. Winning an Emmy for this campaign reflects the profound emotional depth and public importance of its message. By focusing on personal stories and actionable prevention tips, the PSAs bring attention to stillbirth not just as a health issue but as a deeply human one that deserves more public discussion and healthcare focus.
Amplifying Awareness for Change
Stillbirth is a tragic reality that affects thousands of families in the U.S. each year, and yet it remains a topic surrounded by stigma and silence. Through these PSAs, Trailpack Media has helped change the narrative by highlighting the courage of mothers willing to share their stories. This effort to educate and inform the public—and spark dialogue around stillbirth prevention—has earned well-deserved recognition.
Moving Forward
The Silver Telly and Mid-Atlantic Regional Emmy Awards are more than just accolades—they reflect the success and impact of a campaign that is saving lives. By amplifying the voices of mothers who have faced stillbirth, Trailpack Media and the statewide partners are helping to break the silence surrounding this issue and foster a greater understanding of stillbirth prevention.
