Giving birth – whether it’s for the first time or second or third – is an incredible journey, but it can also be one of the most challenging times in a woman’s life. Between sleepless nights, hormonal changes, and the pressures of caring for a newborn, it’s easy for parents to put their emotional well-being on the back burner.
To support moms during this time, the New Jersey Postpartum Resource and Support Network (NJPRSN) and the Somerset County Commission on the Status of Women invite you to a special virtual workshop:
Being a New Mom is Hard: Tips for Prioritizing Your Emotional Health
This compassionate gathering, led by Kathy Donaldson, MSN, APN, C, WHNPBC PMH-C, RNC-OB, C-EFM, a dedicated expert in perinatal mental health, and program manager of the NJPRSN, will provide a safe space for participants to explore their feelings and gain tools to navigate the holiday season.

- Guided Discussion: Share your experiences in a supportive environment with others who understand.
- Identifying Challenges: Learn to recognize common emotional hurdles, when to seek professional help, and how to navigate handling these emotions in a safe way.
- Practical Tools: Discover strategies to handle emotions, tips and tricks for when it can become overwhelming, support resources, and more.
- Supportive Community: Whether this is your first time postpartum or your second or third, or you are supporting someone who si postpartum, this session offers insights, encouragement, and community.
