Central Jersey Family Health Consortium is excited to share a recent blog post co-authored by Robyn D’Oria, CEO of the Central Jersey Family Health Consortium, in collaboration with experts from the Rutgers State Policy Lab at Rutgers University, Rutgers School of Public Health Slawa Rokicki, Mitu Patel, and Rutgers University-Campden School of Nursing Patricia Suplee. This insightful piece outlines the crucial work being done through an academic-community partnership between the Rutgers School of Public Health and the Central Jersey Family Health Consortium to tackle disparities in perinatal mental health.
Perinatal mental health, encompassing conditions like depression and anxiety during pregnancy and postpartum, is a pressing public health issue that disproportionately affects racial and ethnic minority groups.
Our partnership conducted a community needs assessment funded by the New Jersey Alliance for Clinical and Translational Science, employing both qualitative research and a thorough evaluation of current state and community services.
