Strength in Community: Supporting Perinatal Emotional Health Together

Perinatal Emotional Health Conference

Date: Tuesday, May 6, 2025
Time: 9 AM - 4 PM
Location: RWJ Conference Center, Hamilton Township, NJ 08619

Each year, one in five women in the U.S. experience a perinatal mood or anxiety disorder (PMAD), yet half go undiagnosed and untreated. Suicide and overdose remain among the leading causes of maternal death in the postpartum period, underscoring the urgent need for improved mental health support for birthing parents.

To address these critical gaps, the Central Jersey Family Health Consortium presents "Strength in Community: Supporting Perinatal Emotional Health Together," an educational conference and networking event for healthcare professionals dedicated to expanding their knowledge and improving perinatal mental health outcomes. This event will feature expert-led discussions, collaborative learning opportunities, and valuable resources to empower professionals in their work supporting parents and families.

What to Expect

This full-day conference will bring together healthcare professionals from various disciplines, offering insights into key issues in perinatal mental health, including inclusivity in care, the impact of paternal preparation, self-care for providers, and targeted interventions for maternal rage. Attendees will leave with practical tools to enhance their support for families navigating perinatal emotional health challenges.
